This page provides historical links to some old newspaper articles that records just a little of our club’s rich history.
Note that for much of our early history, we were simply referred to as the “Waratahs”, however in the first few years the newspapers also called us “those Parramattans”, “Harris Park Waratah” and even “Pitt Row Waratah” – we were definitely from the north side of the rail line. To add to the confusion at the turn of the 20th century, there was also a Granville Waratah Rugby Union Club and a Granville Waratah Tennis Club. We have found no evidence to suggest we were associated with these clubs.
