Active Kids program.

$100 voucher from the State Government towards registration

Commencing 31 January 2018, the NSW Government is starting its Active Kids program, which provides a $100 voucher towards sporting registrations, each year, for 4 years

Active Kids is a program to help NSW families meet the cost of getting their kids into sport and active fitness and recreation activities.  See this link for more details on what you can use it for etc.

Who is eligible to claim the voucher?

Every child (4.5 – 18 years’ old) enrolled in school from Kindergarten to Year 12 will be eligible for an Active Kids Voucher. This includes those who are home-schooled or enrolled in secondary school education at TAFE NSW

Process

  1. Parents apply for a voucher code via the Service NSW web-site (you will need to create a Service NSW account)
  2. Register on-line
  3. At the Invoice Screen there will be message to enter your Voucher Code
  4. The system will automatically check the validity of that code and where approved, the invoice will automatically update to be less $100
  5. Pay the remainder of your fees

Club House process

If you register at the club house, and want to use a Active Kids voucher, your registration will be provisional until we can check the voucher is valid.  Your children can train, but will NOT be allowed to play in any official games (from 7th April) until we have been able validate the voucher.  As yet, we don’t know how long this will take.

Impact on Refunds

The Active Kids voucher is NOT REFUNDABLE.  The State Government has prohibited us from refunding it either as another voucher or in cash.  But all is not lost.

Normally  – the club will refund that portion of your fees which we have not expended up until the end of June (when it minimal).  For someone withdrawing before their first game, this is often most/all of their fees.

If you have partly paid for your fees using an Active Kids voucher, and you are moving your child to another club (any sport) then we will attempt to transfer the remaining funds (if greater then $30) from your voucher to that club.

This is on a best efforts basis and does depends on the other club being eligible for Active Kids and responding appropriately to our attempt to do this.
